At The Book Dragon, we believe that stories come to life best when shared—and there’s no better place to share them than in schools! Our School Services programme brings local authors, illustrators, and creatives straight into the classroom to inspire the next generation of readers, writers, and artists.
We offer:
- Author Talks & Q&As – Meet local writers, hear their journeys, and ask all the big questions.
- Book Signings – A chance for students to take home a signed copy and a memory to treasure.
- Creative Writing Workshops – Utilising local authors’ talents and passion to inspire students and working with them to write creatively and think critically. Can be tied to themes currently worked on in school or to meet specific curriculum objectives.
- Audiobook Creation & Narration – Learn how stories are brought to life in sound, from narration tips to production insights, as well as insight into the science of how ears hear, and how digital sound works.
- Graphic Novel Workshops – Team up with a professional graphic designer to discover how comics and graphic novels are made—from sketch to speech bubble.
We tailor each visit to suit the school and age group, whether it’s a one-off event or a day of sessions. Our aim is simple: to spark imagination, encourage creativity, and make reading and storytelling feel exciting, accessible, and real.
