Skip to contentI Am Who I Am Because My Daddy Is The Great I Am is the first book in the J & J Royal Kids Collection Series. As Princess J reveals who she is in Christ through I Am Affirmations, readers will be taken on a journey of self-discovery. GOD told Moses that He is "I Am", and He will be whatever the Israelites need him to be. It's the same for all of humanity. Therefore, Princess J reminds readers that she is who she is because of Daddy, GOD, the Great I Am. She expresses who she is by speaking "I Am" affirmations, which boost self-confidence, instill self-worth, inspire self-love, and promote creativity and imagination.

Princess Jayelle: She is a delightful and charming little girl who radiates confidence, bravery, and happiness. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ forms the foundation of her vibrant personality. At a tender age, she has come to believe that her identity and purpose in life are intrinsically tied to her relationship with God, whom she lovingly refers to as her ‘daddy’ and the ‘Great I Am’. (Bronwyn McKay)
Princess Jayelle: This is difficult as there is only one character, Princess Jayelle, apart from two pictures of my Daddy in the setting who presumably is meant to be God. Jayelle is a vibrant, confident and sparkling young girl. She tells the story, illustrated at times with other characters in picture form. She is explicit in her understanding of who her Daddy is (God), the Great I Am and how she is made in her Daddy’s image and because of this is able to be this super-confident child. I think she is exceptional in possessing this knowledge and I have difficulty in accepting that a person so young can have this knowledge at their fingertips as explained by Jayelle, which means at times I struggled to find her character authentic. Maybe in this particular religious setting, there are other young girls like Jayelle but in the broader field of society, I haven’t come across a child like her. (Edna Hunneysett)
Princess Jayelle: There is only one character in this book – Princess Jayelle, the narrator – and she serves as an example through which to reveal the author’s message to young readers. (Tim Marshall)
Princess Jayelle: I like Jayelle's values and how self aware and strong she is at such a tender age. It's lovely how she believes in herself, supported by her faith in God. (Eileen Tilley)
Princess Jayelle is the only character in the book but she is an endearing character and a positive role model for young children. She is very self aware and recognises her own self worth, using positive affirmations throughout her daily life. Some readers may feel she is not a true representation of children today, however as a character she delivers important messages in a way that will enable children to learn and grow. (Kirsty McKay)
I am Beautiful! I don't compare myself with others because true beauty resonates from the inside out. I am Unique! When GOD created me, he created me one of a kind. I am Chosen! There's no one like me. (Kirsty McKay)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. Although I'm not someone who follows an organised religion, I respect the messages of positivity, confidence and faith that Leticia expresses in this delightful children's book. The illustrations are lovely and colourful and I believe it would be an attractive gift for children who want to learn more about believing in themselves and God. (Michelle Marshall)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. The story focuses on what children can achieve if they have faith in God. Whilst I respect this viewpoint as a Christian myself, I don't feel like it makes people invincible, which the book seems to suggest at times. (Christine Pollard)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. I Am Who I Am Because My Daddy Is The Great I Am’, is a heartwarming religious children’s book that beautifully captures the essence of self-acceptance, confidence, and joy in the context of faith. Written with a gentle touch by an author whose love for God shines through the pages, the delightful tale introduces young readers to the inspiring character Princess Jayelle, a little girl whose unwavering belief in Jesus shapes her entire worldview. She embraces her identity and purpose with unshakable conviction. Through her eyes, children are encouraged to see themselves as beloved children of God, with the assurance that their worth and significance are rooted in their relationship with him. The simple and relatable storytelling by the author helps to demonstrate how a strong spiritual foundation can empower children to face life’s challenges with courage and resilience. The illustrations featured in the story are enchanting, complementing the story perfectly. Each page is filled with vibrant colours and charming details that captivate the imagination of young readers, further enhancing the book's ability to connect with its target audience. This religious children’s book accomplishes its mission of encouraging self-acceptance, confidence, and joy in a faith-based context admirably. (Bronwyn McKay)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. The book is colourful, eye-catching and well-presented. It is easily read and the message behind the script is a powerful one. However, it appears to spring from a certain way of expressing understanding of God and although it may appeal to the people of a particular belief and culture, I am not sure how much attraction it will have to the wider public. I think it may appeal to Sunday school type classes where, especially with the companion book, an adult can guide a child through the reflections. (Edna Hunneysett)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. I Am Who I Am Because My Daddy Is The Great I Am is a picture book intended to provide children with confidence based on faith. The illustrations by Ambadi Kumar help to tell the story. I think that it’s a very good message about empowerment, but I did feel that, while the book seems to be aimed at very young children, some elements of the text (especially quotes from the Bible) may require explanation from an older reader. (Tim Marshall)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. This is a well written and informative book for children, that could help to increase their self esteem. The drawings are colourful and full of joy and brought a smile to my face. (Eileen Tilley)
Overall Rating: 4 Stars. This charming and beautifully illustrated children's story may not appeal to everyone outside of the Christian religion, but regardless of your faith or traditions, contained within its pages are powerful messages of positivity that we all aspire to, no matter what path we follow or whether young or old.
