This book is a bittersweet continuation of events in the Bottelli family after Jason’s passing. The story picks up about 5 years after Jason’s death. Georgie has tried to rebuild her life as best she can despite the void left behind and move forward. So have Christopher and Anna, and Jason and Georgie’s children. Yet, the past will come back to the forefront as Georgie is approached by a producer who wants to make a film of Jason’s life. She agrees, as long as she can oversee it and it doesn’t overwhelm her. The same goes for Christopher. What’s worse is that some scenes are to be recorded in their Music House, and certain items put into storage years ago are brought out for filming. Georgie hasn’t lived in the property for years and when her new partner, Jeff, suggests that they build their own home together on the site, the house will soon be destroyed. Will this be a strain on their new relationship? Will this trigger her anxiety attacks?
It is delightful seeing the old cast shine and adapt to their new life. Some characters really go through some growth like Michael or Dave. New characters such as Jeff are sweet and endearing and are exactly what’s needed to ease the pain in the story. Jeff and Georgie’s relationship felt wholesome and real. The dialogue was strong in this book and everyone had their voice. The plot is streamlined and doesn’t take the reader anywhere unexpected. Yet, the journey isn’t easy for the characters. The pacing is mostly good; just some scenes that jump a little too much in time or could be fleshed out.
All in all a beautiful tribute to the saga. I award this book 4.5 stars.
