In Thread of Hope we pick back up where the previous book, ‘Strand of Faith,’ left off with main protagonists Leonie and Prospero. It is clear that they both want to have a future together but are still haunted by the pasts and worried that the truth, if discovered, will drive the other away, particularly as Leonie’s natural response is to run. Abbot Gabriel continues to be haunted by his visions and the consequences of his actions, and it seems that time is running out for him and the young couple. Can he find a way to achieve peace and spare Leonie and Prospero anymore heartache?
Again this is a well written story that continues to keep the reader engaged and invested in the outcomes. The plot moves forward at a steady pace, allowing the reader the opportunity to delve deeper into the characters and understand more about their backgrounds and behaviours. New characters are introduced as we learn more about Leonie’s true heritage, which we can see is set to play a significant role in the future. It will be interesting to see in which direction the Author takes this.
I am really enjoying reading this series, and I particularly love the drama and conflict that has been created and how the Author has explored and tested this with each of the key characters. I also am enjoying the added dimension she has brought to the characters with the introduction and development of their psychic gifts and abilities.
I award 5 stars.
