Cover Blurb:

Cedain is destined to collapse. Across a world rife with blood, betrayal, and brutality, five people wade through unexpected tragedies. An egotistical student, a fleeing refugee, a nomadic warrior, a fallen noble, and a criminal in hiding navigate the sinister dealings of politicians, two sudden wars, and nefarious lies that surface at Ashmount-a university dedicated to teaching the five branches of magic. Survival means adapting or dying. Fans of Joe Abercrombie and hard magic systems will enjoy navigating a morally gray cast of characters in a world on the brink of collapse.

The Trials of Ashmount (Tragedy of Cedain Book 1) By Author John Palladino – Book Review

A very promising debut, one I thought deserved 4 stars. It is gritty, certainly not for a young audience. With a cast that would shame Game of Thrones, and a university that makes Hogwarts seem like kindergarten. You cannot trust anyone, for this reason, as well as others, you must not get too close to a character, as John Palladino weaves this monster of a tale. No less than 700 pages of mayhem, magic, and bloodshed. The story starts slow, but soon gathers momentum as we are introduced to new and interesting characters: 5 different walks of life that will capture the love, hate, and compassion of the reader. Thank you, John Palladino, for sharing your work with The Book Dragon.
