Elizabeth Green has created an everlasting character in the minds of her readers in Clarence the owl. This book, The Owl and The Christmas Tree, is a great festive tale for readers of the specified age range (3-7 years) and beyond. An easy to read steadily flowing narrative without much in the way of complexity of language, coupled with the most excellent illustrations, make this a very memorable book. Displaying an emotional depth, with core themes of equality and friendship, this is a title I have no hesitation in recommending.
