The Magic of Misty Nook: The Family from Castle Farm By Author Christine Skippins – Book Review

The age old sentiment that dogs have owners and cats have staff can apply to all animals. In this book, the Misty Nook elves take on a range of abandoned animals from Castle Farm. The elves fall in love with them all, including their quirks and habits, working with each one’s individual personality to look after them and support them in their loving new forever homes with human families.

Another fantastic children’s book by Christine Skippins. I’d love to have children to read this with! Each animal’s story could be a short bedtime read. I found only one thing I’d bring to the author’s attention, hence why I took off half a star (perhaps that was too mean to do so!)  “…never been outside its gates before…” – There’s always an issue about the apostrophe with ‘its’. Characters and their dialogue are superbly presented for readers young and old. The plot moves at a steady pace for younger readers to easily follow, and I love the illustrations. I award 5 stars.
