The Fixer: The Last Romanov By Author Jill Rosenblatt – Book Review

The Last Romanov written by Author Jill Rosenblatt is the third book in the Fixer series and continues where ‘The Killing Kind,’ left off. The main protagonist Katerina, is in way over her head with the mysterious organisation MJM Consulting who contract her as a Fixer for New York’s wealthy and privileged men. But with the turn of events, she can no longer trust MJM and needs to get out of her contract before she ends up dead. One last job will give her the money she needs to disappear, but at what cost? Add the complication of Kat’s strengthening feelings for professional thief, Alex Winter, and we have a truly gripping, emotional rollercoaster ride, as our heroine fights to bring it all together, complete her objective and keep the man she loves.

The Last Romanov is a longer narrative then it’s predecessors, and so the plot deliberately moves at a slower pace whilst the Author introduces situations and events that set the scene for what is to come. The story soon picks up the pace, and the author keeps the readers in suspense throughout. There is plenty of drama and tension built as Kat must think fast and react to the circumstances thrust upon her, whilst navigating through a web of deceit, protecting her family and securing a life with the man she loves. Can she have it all?

Readers be warned the ending will leave you desperately searching for the fourth book in the series!

I really enjoyed ‘The Last Romanov’ and I do love the character of Katerina Mills. I am therefore awarding a well deserved 5 stars despite the Author leaving me hanging, and wanting more!
