The Deathless God’s by Christopher Joyce is a well-written and well thought out tale of horror. It is a unique account of the protagonist: Benjamin Cain and his supposed evidence of ancient cosmic gods and otherworldly goings-on. Each section is quite jarring but incredibly interesting. It has you thinking of aspects of the universe that we don’t know and will most likely never know. They’re revelations toward the middle before the second part of the novella unfolds. The second part is an unnerving short story from the perspective of Arthur Dibsdale and how he encounters and suffers at the hands of a Deathless God and how he also causes suffering. Overall, the prose and editing were well done, Christopher’s writing style is efficient and displays shock value very well. The book is a fantastic prompt to discuss and think about the universe, religions, history, and one’s own theories.
I award 5 stars.
