Soulbreather (The Soul Mist Series Book 1) By Author Helen Garraway – Book Review

Soulbreather is the first book in this new paranormal fantasy series written by Helen Garraway, author of the epic fantasy series ‘The Sentinals.’ In book one, readers are introduced to the characters of Solanji, a human, from the realm of Puronia ruled by angels, and Mav, a fallen angel who was banished to the realm of Eidolon (a place without souls). Mav is being tortured and punished for the alleged killing of his sister-in-law.

Mav and Solanji’s paths cross when Solanji’s young brother inadvertently finds himself on the wrong side of angel law, and is sent to Eidolon. Solanji must risk her own safety, by using her secret abilities to save her brother from his dark fate, and successfully rescue Mav, bringing him back to Puronia and the angel who has promised to set her brother free. But is Solanji saving Mav or condemning him to a worse fate, and will her feelings for Mav conflict with her desire to save her brother.

This a wonderfully written story, with a great cast of characters including a DRAGON!! The plot moves forward at a good pace keeping readers entertained and invested in the characters. There are no significant editorial issues and nothing to distract the reader from the enjoyment of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed and I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

I award 5 stars.
