A superbly written story by Author C. J. Laurence, and again she does not disappoint fans! I must say that out of all the titles that I have read so far, this is by far my favourite book. I simply cannot praise this book enough.
The main protagonist, Louisa, suffers emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her ex-partner Adam. She finally finds the strength to leave but it is clear that Adam is not one to let go of his control so easily.
When Louisa meets Jake, she must learn to trust in love again. But with Adam a constant threat to their happiness can the couple survive or will Louisa’s past drive them apart?
This is a hard hitting real life story emotional rollercoaster ride, packed with drama, tension and moments that will have the readers literally wanting to shout out ‘yes’ and high five the characters! The plot is very credible, emotive and moves at a pace that keeps the reader turning through the pages, making it very hard to not finish in one sitting. Each character including, the secondary / supporting cast are well developed, relatable, and easy for the reader to form a connection with whether that’s a love them or hate them.
I loved it, and I award Retribution a worthy 5 stars.
