John’s emotive language welcomes the reader to his inner world. A simple introduction to each poem prepares you with a little context, but in no way forces you to think like him. Touching on subjects both light and dark the poems had me smiling and in turn, deeply moved as I moved from “Billy’s Trousers” to “The Ghosts of Past”, which brought forth personal memories of one I lost so recently. As a veteran I empathised with and adored “Let us not Forget”. I read it aloud to my family.
A shared collection of stimulating words and nourishment for the soul, collected for the benefit of others as all profits will go to the Unicorn Centre, Riding for the Disabled. Poetry I will read again and again.
I award Poetry in the Key of Life, 5 stars.
