Where to start?
Of all the reviews I have written thus far, the Young Adult Horror title from Jacqui Dempster is certainly my favourite. Frankly, it’s a pity I cannot award more than 5 stars! But if those are the rules…
What I love the most about this story are the characters. We have PJ, a young boy from New York City. After the death of his beloved mother, he finds himself marooned in a small, sleepy village of Scotland, to live with his aunt. He brings with him the teenage angst of NYC, wondering what he had done to deserve such cruel and unusual punishment. That was until he realised the village was not as sleepy as he had once thought.
There was something he must do, a mystery to solve, he feels can save the very special soul of the most important person in his life. Enter a small circle of friends who share the same interest, who know something is awry. Together they can combat what threatens their very sanity in this adventure I could not put down. So many surprises!
I loved it!
