A story with serious potential, a brilliant twist and a cliffhanger ending – an innovative sci-fi adventure for young readers that will capture their imagination!
Niko is a science enthusiast but on his trip to the science museum, he comes face to face with something extraterrestrial and finds his dreams turn into reality. After getting to know Bob the alien a little better, he sets off on a mad dash around Birmingham alongside his mother to help out these strange beings. It’s pacey, fast and action-packed, sure to keep even less-engaged readers interested. Niko is a likeable and believable character and his mum is an unusual quirky side kick.
Although a highly readable book with a rollercoaster of a plot line, the writing itself does need serious editing to ensure grammatical consistency; the tense isn’t quite sure whether it’s past or present and for newer readers, this makes the story somewhat difficult to follow. However, should this flaw be resolved, there’s scope here for a fantastic series of books.
The Book Dragon reviewed this story on behalf of the author and found an edge of seat, page-turning book that provides something just a little out of this world. At this time, the book is awarded 3 stars.
