A brilliant little read about clock changes – definitely one for the child who won’t go to sleep if the sun’s still up!
In this story, Nani is learning yet another lesson; this time, it’s all about the clocks going forwards causing that inevitable problem all parents face – how to get your child to sleep when the sun’s still up! Nani is there to show us just what happens if we decide to ignore the time and stay up anyway – it’s a fantastic story to help parents explain the clock changes and what happens as a result of them. Nani is a mischievous character and one that most children will enjoy reading about. Gnome and Doggy are certainly necessary characters although somewhat confusing. They seem to act in a parental manner yet appear to be Nani’s friends; nevertheless, they’re an integral part to the stories.
Full of the same quirky images as the other books in this series, the illustrations drive home the action in the story in their unique way. This is a book with purpose and a clear mission, and the story never gets distracted from that.
The Book Dragon reviewed this innovative tale on behalf of the author and awards it 4.5 stars.
