This is a peaceful, fun read about Mr. Puddlebrush, an endearing old man who takes care of his house and nature around it. His personality is constant and relatable, and the illustrations beautifully accompany the story. Most of the story revolves around Mr. Puddlebrush’s routines, but there is a special emphasis on the puddles he sweeps away. The lesson on evaporation is well done, yet comes pretty late into the story. However, it’s a good way to tie into the overall message of the book: which is to go outside, play and explore nature. The reader participation in the end is well crafted. The prose is fun, and lyrical for the most part.
I award 5 stars.
