‘Monster makes a friend’ is book one of the series where a little mouse stumbles upon a creature who claims he isn’t a monster. The pair take on a new friendship and this teaches children to be accepting of others no matter their appearance. This book is brought to life with fun and colourful illustrations by Nivya Kuriakose that add to Julia Stebbing’s brilliant writing. With added fun for the kids, there are bonus colouring pages in the back to keep the entertainment going until you pick up book two in the ‘I’m not a monster’ series. I award this book 5 stars.
