Do you suffer from low self-esteem? I did. Has low self-esteem sabotaged your chances of having a fulfilling relationship? It did for me. I wrote this book in hopes of encouraging women not to put themselves through what I put myself through. It is human nature to want to be loved — but not at the cost of your own self-worth. Lack of self-esteem affects not only adolescent girls but women of all ages. Many grown and successful women battle this inner demon. This struggle is made evenworse when an unscrupulous man enters the picture and seeks to take advantage of women in this weakened state. Lookingback, I can’t believe I allowed that to happen — repeatedly. Every person deserves respect. Getting respect means first giving respect to yourself. If you do this, God will send the perfect person to love you just the way you are. You must arrive at a point of self-care and self-pride where you can say to any man, proudly, “I love me before I love you. I deserve unlimited love, respect, success, and devotion.” If you truly love yourself, then fill yourself up with positive affirmations and the conviction that you are a good person, leaving no room for anyone to dump their garbage on you. Tell people who try to do that to go find an empty container — because yours is already full.

Me, Myself and Men By Author Sharon St John – Book Review

Me, Myself and Men is an apt title for this memoir of an unlucky-in-love woman as progresses into adulthood. While I agree that it gives life lessons to every woman out there, and love does indeed make you blind, I’m not so sure I’d recommend this book to everyone. It needs a mature readership to benefit from the wisdom that Sharon dishes out during this volume. I did want a happy ending for her, and I hope that she does have a decent man sent her way after all the crap she has been through. It is true that we learn from our mistakes and that is how we progress through life.

I’d cut down the section of Sharon’s life in her 30s that is given to the reader – this is a very lengthy section – and I hate to sound like a broken record, but it does need editing throughout the book, especially concentrating on this 30s section. Simple errors and typos ruin it. Sharon wrote her book ‘Issues’ before this one, and it was based on what happened to her (with a sprinkling of artistic licence) so it did tamper down the shock factor when I read the same things in this book. I have to give it a 3 star rating.
