A book with a huge life lesson at its heart: nobody looks the same and that’s ok.
Todd is part bird, part bear, part tiger and he’s desperate to make new friends just like any other child; the story follows him as he overcomes his fears about being different and embraces a new social challenge. An engaging and unique concept, this book is a useful tool for teaching children the value of kindness and courage in the face of adversity.
Our protagonist is a likeable character and his grandmother even more so. Her patient and nurturing nature will appeal to readers and might make children listen to her important messages where they don’t listen to their own parents!
Structurally sound, the book is readable and meanders along at a nice pace; it’s not the most grabbing story but there’s something to be gotten out of it. The Book Dragon reviewed this on behalf of the author and awards it 3.5 stars.
