In this bilingual book, Mario gets braces on his teeth and has to learns to stand up against his school friends who aren’t being very friendly.
He hates his braces – they are painful, look ugly, and food gets stuck in them all the time.
As everyone at school makes fun of him, Mario is disheartened by all the mocking he faces. Will his elder brother, Tony, help him to stand up against his bullies and accept his braces?
I Really REALLY Don’t Want Braces inspires children to embrace their braces, by educating them on the benefits of braces, as well as teaching children to stand up for themselves, and motivating young readers to discover their inner strength. This book will help you raise confident and resilient little humans.
The Editing is almost perfect, and just to make the author aware that the text on the red pages isn’t clear when it comes to the French language translation, this happens twice. But it is an easy fix and does not distract from the story. Great characterisations and dialogue that makes you feel you are actuall there. This book really is fantastic for any child and the plot moves forward at a satisfactory pace accompanied by illustrations that really do bring the story to life.
I award 5 stars.
