Cover Blurb:

Kailee Johnson has a voracious appetite for men. "There are 3 types of men when you're on the prowl—the tasty morsel, the hottie, and the nice guy." A successful and powerful businesswoman in the male dominated New York construction industry, she anchors her glamorous lifestyle in the up and coming "6th borough" of Jersey City, where Kailee aggressively pursues money, designer shoes, men, and cocktails. One day she wakes up to the smell of booze, shame and regret to proclaim the powerful words "I need help." Her search for healing leads to a clairvoyant in Manhattan, to the deepest reaches of her subconscious mind, and to the New Mexican scene of a repressed childhood memory where sexual abuse changed her life forever. Kailee fights a ferocious battle to reclaim her shadows by battling old ways, fears and a traumatic ecosystem to uncover the powerful and sensitive woman within. Her story will entertain you, make you laugh, cry, and sing triumphant at her journey to become whole.

Fuschia Parade By Author Heather Martin – Book Review

Heather Martin tackles her own demons with her book Fuschia Parade. Kailee, our main character, has it all – the New Jersey apartment, the lifestyle, the wardrobe, the contacts, the top earning job – and wears it well. Despite being a woman in a man’s world, she virtually runs her boss’ company and still has time to shop for goodies, including a string of one night stands. It takes a personal tragedy to spark her realisation that her life needs to change for the better, and we are shown her begin her path of healing. Alas, this book has needs editing – but the author can very easily correct this to make it a very enjoyable read. 4 stars overall.
