Breaking Silence By Author Karen Langtree – Book Review

Breaking Silence is a YA Dystopian Adventure and the first book in the Breaking Trilogy by Author Karen Langtree. Readers are introduced to the characters of Si and Chas who are forced to flee when their paths collide following Si’s escape from a high security detention centre. With its similarities to Divergent, fans of this genre will enjoy this highly engaging and captivating read. The plot moves at a good pace as Si and Chas run for their lives and try to keep ahead of the organisation that is pursuing them so voraciously for reasons unknown. However this soon becomes apparent as they delve deeper into the organisation who operate the detention centre and find that the past is chasing them once more. The cast of characters are likeable and incredible, particularly Si and Chas who are strong characters and show a lot of determination and resilience. Readers can easily establish a connection and wholly invest in their story. There were no significant editorial issues to distract a readers enjoyment and most will find themselves automatically reaching for the second book in the series to see what happens next.

I really enjoyed and I am awarding 5 stars.
