Our heroine Lauren dances onto our pages once more in the third instalment (and hopefully not the last) of The Amberwood Ballet School series.
Having followed the characters through their plies, parties and paranormal occurrences in the last two books, Ballet School Rumours delivers yet again with the reader only growing to love the students, teachers and ghosts even more. In this book, there’s a new student, a gossip wall with a vindictive contributor and a pupil determined to reveal the spirits that haunt the halls of Amberwood. By now we understand and relate to Lauren, Katie, Ethan and co. and their stories are therefore believable and interesting. I did feel that Jay took more of a back seat this time round, which in my personal opinion was a shame as I’d grown to love him in Ballet School Boys.
The plot is as fast-paced and punchy as usual although there were a few aspects that I felt could have been delved into deeper, which would have added to the story, especially in regards to the new student and her back story. Fingers crossed there’s a fourth book that allows Nyree to shine. Again, the book leaves us with question after question that has us turning the pages to the very end.
Moreish and indulgent, Ballet School Rumours delivers another fantastic story; The Book Dragon reviewed this on behalf of the author and awards it 4 stars.
