Cover Blurb:

Angels sharpening their blades. A mortal world plagued by demons. And one young woman torn between them. Raised as an orphan in Midri, Sanaa wants only one thing: Freedom outside the walls of Vice District. When she’s caught by the dreaded poachers and sold at auction, she’ll do anything to escape the fate before her. Anything. Rynk has battled his way to the top of angel hierarchy, but he longs for his fated mate. Instead, the Council sends him to Midri to recover a lost token of the Celestials—the sacred relic he lost as a child. Rynk must seize this one chance for redemption if he ever hopes of finding her—his Beloved. In the demon-infested world of Midri, Rynk stumbles across a young woman on death’s door. With a single touch, three things become crystal clear to the blind warrior: She is his Beloved. She’s human. She rejects their fated bond. With demons closing in, Sanaa and Rynk are running out of time. If they don’t overcome the bruises of their pasts, thousands will die. Reluctant allies. A thrilling discovery. A daring plan. Because it’s not just their hearts at risk—Sanaa’s entire world will be destroyed if the two can’t find a way to accomplish the impossible… Before the angels burn Midri to ash.

Angels of Ashes & Ivory by Author Raye Wagner – Book Review

The Book Dragon was given the privilege of reading Angels of Ashes & Ivory by Author Raye Wagner, prior to its release on Thursday 17th February 2022. And on behalf of the Book Dragon Team I would like to personally thank Raye for the complete and utter pleasure given, by allowing me to read her latest work.

It is always such a complete joy to find an author whose standard of writing is so very high that it can sweep you away into the world they have created in an instant, and have you riding waves of different emotions, establishing a true connection to the characters they have created, and what’s more falling in love with them. Rynk and Sanaa are easy to relate to, their feelings, desires, the way in which they embrace their strengths, and accept each other’s flaws, is so genuine and so believable. The reader doesn’t have to work hard at all to visualise them, to feel their emotions regardless of the fact their story is taking place in a fictional realm where Angels and Demons exist.

Raye continues to apply the same wonderful characterisation to her additional supporting characters that you almost wish you could go on to read their individual stories and learn more about them. But…even as you sadly reach the final pages of Rynk and Sanaa’s story, there is a hint that this is most definitely not the end, and so a glimmer of hope of more that is to come. Good News to Readers if you love this story as much as I did!

Angels of Ashes & Ivory is beautifully written and brings a reader everything they could possibly desire in a book. There is love, passion, danger, drama, conflict, friendship, death, victory, mystery….wrapped in one story! Angels and Demons, Soul Mate Connections, Death and Rebirth, A Test of Trust, Strength, Courage, Faith and Belief. Nothing in the telling of this story disappoints and I easily award this book 5 Stars.
