All That Lingers By Author Irene Wittig – Book Review

All that Lingers is a superb epic family drama reaching from post WW1 Austria, over to post WW2 New York and back again.

It’s hard hitting, accurately depicted in terms of language, culture and history, and provides an unflinching look at the role of Austria in the war.

The characters are real, believable and honest. There are many to work with and at times there could be even too many, and we don’t see the development of them until later. Of course the influence of those who died, remains.

This is a well written story, poignant and emotionally driven. I award 4.5 stars.
