A Girl’s Gotta Eat by Author Elizabeth Lynn Blackson – Book Review

This book contains adult themes and strong language throughout.

This is not a genre that I would normally read but I have reviewed this on behalf of The Book Dragon.

When first asked to review it, I will admit that the title of the book suggested something completely different to the actual story content. I’m not sure if this was intentional by the author or just the workings of my mind. However, this novel has surprised me by being a very enjoyable read. It is not for the faint hearted as some of the graphic descriptions leave little to the imagination. I have chosen a passage from the book that, I think, sums up the story perfectly.

‘Lucy backed away, dazed. Before she could get to the living room, she heard the wet ripping sound of flesh. A cold chill ran down her spine. A moment later a wave of self-loathing washed over her. In its wake, she felt numb, like she was detaching from reality.

A girl’s gotta eat, she thought to herself, nearly in shock.’

I have given this book 4 stars as there were some formatting and editorial issues, although minor.

Overall, this is a great read and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
