Honu meets Kiyaya is a beautiful and inspiring book that describes the unlikely friendship between a sea turtle and wolf. Honu and Kiyaya learn about their species’ ways of doing things and form a special friendship as a result. The characters feel relatable and plausible and their dialogue is eloquent and simple without being too moralizing. The uplifting quality of the story lies in the thought out scenarios and solid plot. The pacing feels a bit irregular here and there; but all in all this book incites readers to be open-minded, kind and adventurous.
