Jo Fraser is now sporting a luxuriant pair of wings, which he keeps hidden as they tuck neatly into skin flaps on his back. Now living with his best friend, Dan, and Dan’s dad, Jo, Dan, and their friends must stay ahead of Dr Bowden, real name, Dr Steiner, who is the evil genius behind all Jo’s suffering.
Flight and Fight is Linda Jones’s second book in the Fraser Chronicles and is just as well-written with an intriguing plot as the first was. Jo finds that he is able to fly and loves the freedom this gives. Of course, there is always the risk that he will be discovered. Jo must outwit Dr Steiner’s goons and the school bullies he has recruited to make Jo’s life hell. Jo and Dan enlist the help of their friends, who also know about Jo’s secret.
They do have the help of Dan’s father and uncle, both of whom appear to have a mysterious past of their own, as well as a well-trained security detail, but the youngsters go out of their way to exclude the adults from their plots, often putting themselves and others in danger.
This fast-paced second part of the series is even better than the first. Readers won’t want to miss the conclusion in the third book. I award this book 4.5 stars.
