Sentinals Justice is the third book in the epic fantasy series by Author Helen Garraway and I have to say is my favourite so far! The story picks back up with Jerrol Haven who is recovering from his previous confrontations with the Ascendants and the loss of two sentinals. Jerrol, however is thrust back into battle when the Ascendant focus on Elothia and use the Grand Duke’s army to achieve their goals. King Benedict sends Jerrol as a Diplomat to try and resolve hostilities and sue for peace, and his love interest, Scholar Taelia accompanies him when the Grand Duke request’s her assistance also.
I loved the drama and conflict throughout this book, and the way in which each character was challenged on a physical, emotional and mental level. The Author shows a different and much deeper side to them highlighting not only their vulnerabilities but their strengths too, thus making them more real, and furthering the connections already established with the reader in the earlier books. There are plenty of twist and turns along the way, the plot moving at a really good pace and keeping readers fully engaged in the story. The dialogue is relevant and there are no significant editorial issues to detract from the enjoyment of the book. There was an occasion when the intimacy scenes between Taelia and Jerrol were quite frequent and close together, and I found myself wanting to quickly skip past. But then this would be reflective of a young couple who are in the throes of first love, so this was easily forgiven and did not stop me from absolutely loving the story.
I therefore award a well deserved 5 stars.
