Desperate to secure aid for the coming onslaught, Kesta braves a journey to a rival nation to beg assistance from its uncompromising ruler. Their only hope is the powerful sorcerer with a dark reputation who advises and guards the king. Kesta’s devotion is put to the test when, in return for his aid, the king demands a price Kesta fears to pay; a political marriage between herself and the terrifying sorcerer of the Raven Tower.
