Description
Twist and Twisted is the first Doylean Jenks novel, set in a nameless though modern city. DJ, for short, is a seasoned, hard-bitten private investigator, embittered by events in his past with plenty of secrets in the cupboard. There are only four things he trusts; his hunches, his gun, Ben, an officer in the police force and the enigmatic Miss Fixit.
The story begins with three playing cards on a rainy pavement and is a tale of how those in power believe they can do anything to anyone for pleasure or progress. It is gritty and grimy in places, but also with hope, humour and determination.
Twist and Twist is a multi-layered novel, full of surprises and well-paced, combining the crime and thriller genres.
Even for a streetwise private investigator, what he had just seen was hard to fathom. DJ could never have guessed that his passing curiosity would drag him into a world of power, depravity and the darkest side of humanity. Time is running out and the stakes are getting higher…
