Set in the heart of the Amazon, the book focusses on endangered species that live side by side in the Amazon basin. Just like the original story, three otters set out to build homes with two not quite making the wisest of choices! They are hunted by the deadly caiman who, just like the wolf in the original tale, has his own catchphrase that children will be reciting in no time.
An excellent version of The Three Little Pigs, this book will really fire up a child’s imagination and encourage them to connect with a classic traditional tale in a modern way. Lee Wilder takes a well-loved classic and makes it her own, without distracting too much from the heart of the original story. Wonderful images capture the heart of the Amazon and help children transport themselves into the writing. The added bonus of animal facts at the back will also help nurture curious young readers.
