When Hong finds himself lost and alone, he’s swept up by the kind mother cat only to discover that he’s very different to everyone around him: cue much teasing and a desperate search for somewhere to feel wanted. The updated version of the ugly duckling will definitely appeal to little readers with strong imaginations.
Beautifully told with gorgeous accompanying images, the story will sweep children up and teach them it’s ok to be different and that we all have a place we belong to. The facts at the end of the book are a brilliant little bonus, and the knowledge that proceeds from book sales will be donated to endangered animal rescue and rehabilitation programs makes it even better.
