Cover Blurb:

So bloody sweet, I’ll give you tooth decay. Call off the search party, here I am. Candy Crystal is back for another round with my Gambler’s Monarchs. And don’t be mistaken, they are mine. All mine. With the Monarchs fractured, I need to use my best moves to bring the whole biker gang back home. My best moves being reverse cowgirl, the upside down corkscrew and the underestimated cupid’s arrow. Unfortunately, my appeal doesn’t stretch as far as the stray who has latched onto one of my men. A charming, cunning killer to be exact. This house isn’t big enough for the two of us. I’m a b!tch who knows her way around a bone, so this slutty snake had better watch her back. Did I also mention she’s trying to kill me? Unless Angus and I get to her first. The Monarchs may be blind but I know an assassin when I see one. Some say I’m delusional, others use the term disturbingly obsessive. I prefer protective, and the Candy Crusher isn’t my sole possession anymore. The claws are out, the game is on. Trigger Warning: This is book two of the I Love Candy series, featuring a feisty female lead. Candy is spontaneous, impulsive and reckless, which makes this book inappropriate for under 18’s. She gives as good as she gets, causing chaos and leaves you wondering who is bullying who! Expect excessive amounts of steam, violence and cursing throughout. This series is a RH trilogy with a HEA…eventually.

Smashin Candy By Author Maddison Cole – Book Review

Smashin Candy is the second book in the I Love Candy Series by Author Maddison Cole. Picking up where book one, Crushin Candy, left off, Candy is determined to reunite the fractured Monarchs and have her full cake and eat it!

As before the story moves at a good pace and in this second book the plot takes an interesting turn when Candy’s position as Queen of the Monarch’s is threatened with the arrival of another female, cue the green eyed monster in a character that is completely outrageous, has no filter and a devil may care attitude. However it seems that Candy has good reason to want to get rid of her competition, Cherry, as it would appear that Cherry is not who she seems and is more than just a threat to Candy’s relationship with her Monarchs. Cherry wants Candy out of the picture permanently, and our sassy, impulsive and obsessive heroine is more than happy to rise to the challenge, and use her claws to protect what is hers.

I enjoyed reading Smashin Candy, and consider it my guilty reading pleasure, but I have to say that I did not enjoy the story telling quite as much as the first book due to the significant increase of erotic content. Whilst some readers will not find this an issue, for me when I compare my experience with the first book I would have preferred a similar balance with the steamy scenes and enjoyed more of the Candy attitude scenes particularly her ‘bitch fights’ with Cherry.

As a minor note there were the odd editing issues, however these can be easily addressed by the Author and were not a huge distraction.

Overall I award Smashin Candy, 4 stars.
