Something Said, by Mark Anthony Smith, is a collection of short pieces of writing and poetry. The prose takes the form of streams of consciousness and conversations with a varied subject matter. As with other books of this style, it contains some enjoyable pieces and others that don’t quite hit the mark. I liked the poetry the most. However, there is some excellent writing throughout.
Because of its size and how it is set out, it is the type of book one can dip into occasionally rather than reading it in one sitting. There is the odd editing issue, but this did not spoil my reading enjoyment, so I have awarded it 4 stars.
