The Long Road to Loving Mitchell (The Long Road Series) by Author Alicia Hope – Book Review

The Long Road to Loving Mitchell by Author Alicia Hope, tells the story of a young woman, Libby, who single handedly runs her family’s farm located in the rough Australian outback. Libby who faces judgement from the local small farmers community simply yearns for someone to love and to be loved in return. But when a handsome stranger, Cal MacDougall enters her life she soon comes to realise that some men aren’t what they seem to be. Has she fallen for the wrong guy? Amid the

vandalism, destruction, and her financial woes, Libby proves her determination and grit as she battles through life and love to find the happiness she deserves.

Although, The Long Road to Loving Mitchell, is not what I would consider as an original plot, as there are so many books and movies with similar story lines, I thoroughly enjoyed, Libby’s story and the drama that unfolds. And so I would recommend this book to readers who do enjoy similar reads about strong female characters who rise above the conflict and drama that life can cruelly throw their way. My only slight concern were occasions where I was pulled out of the story due to not understanding some of the Australian terms, which I did find distracting at times, whilst I looked these up. However this is easily addressed by the author including a glossary for

the Australian terms throughout the story. The author has attempted to mitigate this in advance by forewarning readers that the book does include Australian terms.

I am therefore awarding, The Long Road to Loving Mitchell, 4 stars.
