Cover Blurb:

How far can your imagination take you? Have you ever wondered what it's like to be bright ink? Flowing gently from a pen, with words to make us think? I wonder if we'd write a tale about an abandoned ship... Or would we suffer with writers block, give up and have a kip? Could ink from a pen really write its own story? Could a shoe have feelings? Could a crocodile brush its teeth? A creative rhyming poem bought to life through a whimsical dreamscape, to encourage abstract thinking, curiosity and wonder within the reader.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like? by Author Catherine Green – Book Review

This is a most unusual and unique book, and I loved it. The illustrations are magical, with muted, dreamlike colours, lots and swirls and curls, and a challenge within to find the hidden question marks. The cover is a work of art in its own right.

The font is clear and easily read, and the book is a good size for either older kids to use themselves, or for parents to read to younger children. I loved the dual ending – one for bedtime, the other for daytime reading. Even better is the work the author has put in at the rear of the book, making this a tool for engaging children in discussion, thought, and imagination with parents or teachers even after the book has been put aside.

The topics will appeal to children of all ages ie ‘have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a teddy/bubble/cloud/dream’ among many others – and the verses are well thought out and often unexpected.

I could write so much more, but suffice to say that this is a book that will certainly be on my own shelf for my granddaughters to read.

Highly recommended, I therefore award 5 stars.
