A story to be shared at Christmas time, the book celebrates all things Christmas in much the same style as the others in the series.
Rather than focussing on just Wanda and Berry, this story includes all the magical folk of the forest and their special Yuletide traditions. The story itself is a little tricky to follow in places, partly because of the word order in the sentences (which I think is the author’s attempt to create a sense of rhythm) and partly from some of the concepts explored. The rhythm isn’t always perfect which also can be quite distracting for little minds trying to make sense of a story. For ultimate enjoyment, this book is best shared with an adult.
Beautiful illustrations are again a main focus of this book alongside the twirling and whirling of the words on the page. The colours themselves, despite not being traditional festive colours, are still resplendent of the Christmas season.
A lovely and different story for Christmas time, The Book Dragon reviewed this on behalf of the author and awards it 3.5 stars.
