Professor Finch and the Midnight Hour Whirl By Author Susie Bennett – Book Review

Professor Finch and the Midnight Hour Whirl is an intriguing children’s picture book. Aimed at younger readers, 3-7 years, it could also inspire older ones. Professor Finch is tasked with monitoring the Grand Museum’s artefacts once midnight strikes. This is when the magic happens! My expectations for this book were of a read that is mysterious and great fun.

The author has a great voice for children’s books, with an easy to follow storyline backed up by appropriate vocabulary. The flow of the story makes sense when read aloud or quietly alone. Enhanced by illustrations that compliment the text, this book should hold reader attention easily. Steadily paced, with curiosity encouraged by imagination inspiring magical elements.

This is a book that I can recommend to younger readers, with a 4.5 star rating.
