Description
When recently bereaved schoolmaster Dr James Wilson retires to Upper Gibbet, he strikes up an acquaintance with Canon Oliver Ball, the local vicar. The Canon, on his own admission, has a tendency to become involved in strange, not to say uncanny, incidents, which he describes to Jim Wilson who, in turn, recounts them to the reader.Further peculiar happenings occur, involving both characters, and Jim Wilson narrates these additional stories. While written in a light style, these tales should not, perhaps, be read late at night by those of a nervous disposition.
