Pangolin Blues By Author Cath Wren – Book Review

Pangolin Blues’ by Cath Wrenis a conservation themed children’s picture book featuring an unusual wildlife character, a Pangolin. Following Peter Pangolin and his Mum through the forest, we’re taken on a journey that tells of the dangers they face along the way.

The way the author writes educates young readers, between 3-7 years, about these unusual creatures in a fun way. This book has great potential to encourage reading and support learning. The detailed illustrations bring the story vividly to life, aiding text to visuals balance.

I’d recommend this book, either to read alone so as to help develop skills, or as a bedtime read. Parents can use each illustration and/or scene as discussion points. Plus, the colouring in and drawing pages at the end of the book create fun supplementary activities, as well as inspiring creativity.
